Sanjay Kapoor plays a double role. One of the characters is Raja, a small-time criminal, who spoils his sweetheart Nisha (Manisha Koirala) with luxuries. The other role is that of a rich trader, Nirmal, who is in love with Sandhya (Mamta Kulkarni). Raja and Nirmal resemble each other like two drops of water.
Nirmal was killed in a car accident while he was searching for his father´s murderer. Nirmal's uncle Bheem Thapa (Raj Babbar), a corrupt police officer, takes advantage of this situation and proposes to Raja to take the place of Nirmal and acquire his wealth.
Raja took the place of Nirmal and his problem is to convince everybody that he is really Nirmal...
